It began like every other Saturday. It was lovely out though a little cool. I was getting ready to spend the day cleaning house and washing clothes when hubby pulled one of his surprise ride deals on me. He decided it was a good day to get out and ride up to the mountains where we have a camp. He said I needed to get out of the house and he was so right.
I needed to get out and way from problems here at the house and once I did that, I felt as though so many of my problems were tossed out the car window.

Do you people ever do that? Just go then forget about things that seem to have you down? I do that then when I get back home, I can look at things in a different light and now feel so bad. I should do that more often.

  1. We all need little escapes once in awhile, even if it's only a few minutes each day. That's what the Ceremonial Japanese Tea Tradition is...an escape...doing something nice for yourself...enjoying the moments.
    Enjoy today Garnet!

  2. That's my idea of a holiday - spur of the moment freedom...

  3. I often think of just driving off when I hit certain sections of the road...but don't. There's no place like "the mountains" to drive to here. The Great Lakes & Niagara Falls are less than a couple hours away but it's not the same.

  5. I would like to hear more about the japanese ceremonial tea. I think I would like that.

Jeanie..my aunt and uncle would take vacations like that. They would just pack up the car and take off and not know where they would end up. He liked taking the back roads and seeing stuff that way.

  6. I get on my bike and take a ride, it allows me to forget about everything but the ride! Good for your husband for making a great decision!
