It is very late.  I have had a rough start for the new year but seems to be on the mend.  I spent the first three days upchucking and not feeling well at all.  I had the flu shot but this bug seems to have slipped by the shot this year.  I hope it does not come around again.  I  hate being down.  Hubby and I both had it.

I am up late now because of my back though. If it is not one thing, it is another.  I was involved in a wreck in the eighties and every so often my back and neck go out.  When it does, I am miserable til I see a chiropractor and I am doing that today.  He usually gets me back on track after one or two treatments.  I am lucky though.  The only remenents of that nasty wreck on Mothers day '81 is my back problem.  It could have been alot worse.  Hubby and I are both lucky in that respect.

If anything good came out of that wreck, it was my husband's resolve not to drink any more.  He has kept his word fairly well too.  Some times it takes something like that to get people back on the right track again.

My daughter and her husband are seperated but he is trying to do better at being a father to Alix and do what he has to do to be around her more often.  He is thinking of moving to the south but I hope for her sake that he does not do that.  Right now he is unsure of so many things.  I guess we will just have to wait and see.

It has done nothing but snow for several hours.   A steady downfall of it.  Looks nice out when it is all pristine and white but not when it goes slushy.

I will try to visit some of your blogs tomorrow.

  1. Good morning & sorry to know you both have been sick and now the back problem on top of all that. I sure hope the snow doesn't cause problems with getting to the doctor. I love Pa. but not the winters. The best joy for my wife and I is to spend time in Lancaster Pa, specifically around Bird-in-Hand, Intercourse, Ephrata and the Sight & Sound Theater. We have been there many times & miss it. Yesterday I needed some of it near me so I ordered some canned veggies from Jake & Amos. Com
    Love that stuff. Take care

  2. Garnet I sure hope you are back to your old self soon. Back and neck problems are part of my daily life so I do feel for you. Hoping your son-in-law gets himself together. How is your other daughter doing? I think about her often and hope she's getting the right treatment / meds she needs.

  3. Sorry to hear about your bad back, but sending healing thoughts and hoping your chiropractor sorts it out for you. Having the flu is awful, I don't think many go without these days. Do take care.

  5. Sorry to hear that you and hubby were sick and now your back...pain surely is unpleasant and affects so many things..sending you healing thoughts your way...I hope your granddaughters daddy thinks before he moves so far from her...how is your other daughter doing that is in treatment? I have been thinking of her and praying that her mind is getting clear enough to think and her heart clear enough to love herself enough to take care of herself. I pray you are feeling yourself soon and pain free...sending hugs and love your way. XX

  9. Trusting that your back is on the mend by now.

That's a tough lesson to learn - everyone drank and drove back in the day. The laws were lax. And it was viewed as funny - other than, I suppose those people who had loved ones hurt or killed.
