In an earlier post I showed some of you my flowers from last year. Hubby has been tending them for me this year and these are some pics we took recently.

I think he has been doing a great job on them. I have some others that I took and will show them to you at a later date. I have been walking more and more each day and am so thankful I can get out and about now. This has been a long rough haul and I have some things that I have to do now to try and improve me lot in life. I am hoping god gives the the willpower to take hold and do more to exercise daily and stengthen my leg muscles. No more of this and getting lackadasial as far as my walking goes, led me to this state.

Five years ago I fell and severly injured my left ankle. I had to have it put back together and plates and several screws in it. I became so afraid of falling that I just hardly walked at all and this is the price I paid for letting my muscles weaken.
I am working over getting over my fear of falling and so is my husband. He is so afraid I will fall, it makes it much worse for me. I will just keep plodding and praying.

  1. Oh Garnet your flowers are lovely, your husband has done a wonderful job for you.
Garnet even if you start and walk 5 minutes a day and slowly increase each day until you are up to 30 minutes will really help you. It doesn't matter how long it takes you to increase your time, just one step at a time for 5 mins. and within a few weeks you won't believe the difference. Wishing you well my friend, see you when I get back from vacation....:-) Hugs

  2. Just take the walking easy as Bernie has said. I hope your fear of falling subsides soon as you begin to walk more and more.

Your husband has green fingers ~ your garden will be beautiful with all those flowers. We had a few flowers in our garden, but the pup has eaten some/most of them! Maybe next year!

  3. Garnet...I was told by my doctor when I broke an ankle...that the brain itself needs retrained after a long period of recuperation...so just keep walking till your fear subsides...start off easy, but keep going!

  4. The flowers are beautiful. I wish I had planted some but I haven't had a chance this year.

Good job with the exercise. I think I'd be a little worried about falling too but you are more likely to fall if you are weak and unfit. Drink your milk and eat your veggies and get a little sun to keep your bones up too.

  5. When I was in the third grade I fell on clear ice and broke my arm. I know how you feel about still being afraid of falling Garnet. I still sort of freak out when I have to walk on ice. You should see me, it's hysterical!Sort of a penguin walk! Anyway, just be careful Garnet. I am sure that the better you start to feel, the more confidence you'll gain. Your hubby is a very nice man to take care of your lovely flowers for you. Did he always have a green thumb?

  6. Falling isn't fun when you get a few years on you. But it is important to keep going. A treadmill has something to hold onto, which may be good in bad weather.
