Today has been one of those cold wet days where you want to find a place to curl up with a good book and just read under the covers but I have been too busy for that.  I have a kingsize quilt I have to have done by the end of November which is no problem but it has to be done by hand cause it is too big for my machine. It is for a Seelers fan and he is paying me for it. I want a new camera and this is my way of getting it.  This is not a quilt I would want for my bed but I hope he likes it on his.  He has seen the pictures.  I have the top sewn together and am doing the quilting with a huge hoop.  wish me luck in getting it done.

I have been busy with the jelly and jams and have the apples to do soon. I hope I can get some help on those. If not, I will do them the best I can.

We have been busy with the little one too.  She is still a joy but I don't think I could keep up with her 24/7 like I did twenty years ago.  I am glad to see her parents come home from work in the evenings.

  1. Garnet I love the Steelers quilt, and I can see this on a man's bed very easy. So much work, good for you. So glad you are enjoying the little one and making jelly and jams. I think you have a lot more energy than you realize....:-) Hugs

  2. That is prety amazing! Although I would prefer a Vikings quilt. :) I know this is a lot of work and I am sure this guy appreciates your hard work.

Yes, I know how much work it is chasing little one's around...much easier when I was younger...on the bright side they sure do keep me young. :) XX

  4. My sister quilts - she has a large frame which she says is much easier and better than a hoop for a large quilt - but it takes up a lot of room when it's set up. I admire your ability. I haven't got the patience although I would love to do a quilt top. I would have to send it out to be machine quilted or something. I hope you get more than a camera - or at the least you get a whopping good camera out of this.

  5. My you have been busy. Good for you to be able to do all these things. Grandkids are exhausting but think of all the memories she's going to have of you when she's much older. It's so worth it isn't it? I sometimes wonder how people in their 40's are having their first child. I know I couldn't do it.

  6. Well Garnet your quilt looks great! I am not nearly that good at it. All I can do is sew squares together! I hope you are able to get that new camera, what a great reward for all of your work! I'd help with the apples if I could! Love Di ♥
