I wanted to post this on this weekend because we worry so much about a group of people who are just trying to support their families by doing jobs no one else will do and get paid little for it. Our troops do the same thing. Do a job no one else will do, get paid little and get even less respect.

Minorities
We need to show more sympathy for these people.
* They travel miles in the heat.
* They risk their lives crossing a border.
* They don't get paid enough wages.
* They do jobs that others won't do or are afraid to do.
* They live in crowded conditions among a people who speak a different language.
* They rarely see their families, and they face adversity all day ~ every day..

I'm not talking about illegal Mexicans ~ I'm talking about our troops! Doesn't it seem strange that many Democrats and Republicans are willing to lavish all kinds of social benefits on illegals, but don't support our troops?

  1. The military is a much bigger part of the US than it is in Canada. But certainly, anyone willing to put themselves on the line for their country is worthy of respect and some amount of financial security.

  2. I couldn't agree More with you. My Grandson is getting ready to go to the Air Force Aug 3rd...The Gov will issue him a paycheck for 400.00...THEN HE has to use it to BUY ALL HIS GEAR!!! I Think I'm pissed right now!!!

  3. I agree. Most humans will never understand the selfless sacrifice that those in the military have given. I am the daughter of a D-day Omaha Beach--Veteran from WW2, the granddaughter of a WW1 Veteran, and the mother of a son that was in 2 tours in Iraq in Operation Enduring Freedom. I am tearfully proud and deeply grateful to them and to all of those who have defended our freedom.

  4. Many do not know it but our soldiers income is so low they qualify for food stamps in many cases. It is sad.

  5. Oh Garnet no one should be paid so poorly that they need food stamps especially soldiers whose lives are on the line and their families are so often left alone for long periods of time.
My husband was in his 25th year in the Air Force when he passed and we loved what he did, must be different in Canada, we were always paid well and taken care of.....they were very good to me when he passed away as well. Should be the same for everyone Garnet, we are all God's children, doesn't matter where we live.
    Happy Memorial Day sweetie.....:-) Hugs
