Long weekend

It has been a long weekend and I am very tired.  I have had the little one with us and she is wearing me down.  Some say I should not have her here all the time but I know this is a temporary situation.  Her mother is working two jobs so she can finish her education and make  a better life for her and her daughter. I am not raising her like some assume I am.  I am just watching her on a temporary basis.

My eldest is with me temporary too. At least til she gets her health issues taken care of.

My mother in law fell last and they had to take her to the hospital.  Thank goodness no broken bones but she was stoved up pretty good. They are going to think about a home for her.

I will try to get to some blogs tomorrow.

  1. Isn't it frustrating when people act like because you are helping out with a grandchild that means you are raising the child. It is if they think it is wrong to be there for your children when they need help........

My husband and I took Little Leo with us today when we went to my niece's 21st and her brother's 17th birthday party because he had his mother up for hours last night and she was too tired to come.

The reaction of some there was annoying they said "Oh you are such good grandparents" but it was the tone as if it was as strange thing to do.

Hope your mother in-law is feeling alright.

  2. I applaude the kindness you are showing trying to do your part becauce I know what I would be like after spending large amounts of time with my energetic grandsons. Just getting too old for too much of that, sad but true. Let people believe what they will, don't worry about them just keep on doing what you know you have to.

  3. Sounds like you have a lot on your plate. Be sure to take some time for yourself too.

  4. You are Such a wonderful person Garnet...((((HUG))))

  5. God I can so relate to your tiredness. There was a time when I felt like the whole world was on my shoulders. Sick husband, problems with son, having his children every single weekend and doing all the work, working 60 hours a week at my job. I just wanted to scream. And now I'm down south with Bruce and it's so peaceful. Maybe I did run away, but I needed a change of lifestyle after I got over mourning my hubby. It will pass Garnet. And I believe your MIL is getting beyond looking after. Doesn't sound good.

  6. Believe me, I know how exhausting childcare is, not to mention all of the other issues yuo have to face. You're a brick!

  7. I think it is commendable that you are caring for your granddaughter as difficult and wearing it can be, I also know it is rewarding. It is better than the alternative...too many children spend far too many hours with a child caregiver because there is no one else to care for the children. Thankfully you are there...and I know without a doubt, in the end, when all is said and done, you will never regret it. Still, I hope you get a chance for time for yourself. I know personally it is easier said then done. :)

I have thought about you and your family and prayed that all is well with each one. Bless you and your big heart. I pray that your mother in law will be in a good place with good caregivers. Much love and big hugs sent your way. XX

  8. Hang in there sweetie, you are a wonderful lady doing all you can to help your children, granddaughter and your mother in law.....I am tired just thinking about all you must be doing. I do hope you MIL is okay.....:-)Hugs

  9. All good grandmothers watch over their grandchildren when they can. Glad you Mil was alright. Love Di ♥
