Rotten week

Terrible week here. Just one I would not want repeated again.  Last Sunday I had pains in my chest.  Hubby took me to the hospital the next day.  My sugar was almost four hundred and my bp was 200/102 and I had to be hospitalized to get it down.  My bs is still going wacky and I have to see the doc this thursday about getting it down some.  I have to take is slow for awhile and not get too excited about things but my daughter calls to tell me she is being evicted from where is is because they do not allow dope or drugs there and she went off track this weekend and they told her she has to  be out by march.  She wanted to come here but we had to tell her no.  I did not want to but I cannot take her back at this time. Not til I get myself straightened out.

My sleep pattern is messed up but that has been that way for years.  Too many years of staying up while hubby was on the midnight shift has done that.  when I worked it was afternoon shift so I have always been a night person.  I would love to be able to fall asleep at ten or eleven and get up at seven but I have fallen asleep at 2 or 3 in the morning and got up at ten for years.   That is not going to change any time soon, it looks like.   Well, I will try to get some sleep now.

  1. I'm so sorry to hear about your health issues Garnet. And you are absolutely right, you need to focus on your own health and well being.
We as mother's seem to always put everyone else first. But if we don't spend some time, everyday, taking care of us, we won't be around to care for anyone. I am guilty of this too. So take good care of yourself and get back on track. O.K.?

  2. Sorry about your sugars and blood pressure - glad they are being taken care of now - must have been scary. And I hope your daughter doesn't resent the fact that you are unable to be her safety net. On the other hand, she will have to suffer the consequences of her actions and will maybe realize she should be more responsible. Let's hope.

  3. I am also sorry to hear about the health issues. Linda was bad off one day and I took her to the hospital and her sugar was over 400 and BP was way too high. She has been on diabetes pills ever since.
That was a wise decision not taking her in at this point in time especially if she is going to continue messing with drugs.
Think good thoughts and get some rest. We will be right here waiting to hear the next report.

  5. Oh sweetie I am sorry to hear about your week, I was praying your daughter would be better by now, addictions are so very hard to deal with I think. Your sugars are so high Garnet, and bp as well, I worry about a stroke. Do you take insulin? I think you should get lots of rest and eat healthy foods. Am keeping you and your family in my prayers, sending big hugs.....:-)

  6. There seems to be more than a few bad tidings in blogland today. The bleak midwinter blues don't help, I guess.

  7. Bernie..they added another pill to the ones I was taking and it is one that makes the pancreas produce more insulin. It seems to be working. Thank all of you for your kind words and prayers.
